Dear Doctor,
it is our pleasure to inform you that the 5th
International Conference
"Sex hormones, pregnancy and rheumatic
diseases"
will be held in Florence
on the 20th and the 21st of
April 2007.
The main aim of the Conference is to report most
recent achievements on pregnancy in autoimmune
rheumatic diseases, with particular final emphasis
on the problems related to the pharmacological
treatments.
Usually, the Conference does not exceed 350
participants and is held in a residential
environment so that people can interact actively.
For the 5th Conference the following
major topics have been chosen:

Antiphospholipid damage to the foetus: from
thrombosis to adaptive and innate immune
responses (pathogenic mechanisms)

Pathogenesis of the antiphospholipid mediated
pregnancy complications

Mothers and babies long term outcome in ALP
syndrome

Pregnancy in systemic autoimmune diseases (systemic
lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, rare diseases,
endometriosis)

Mechanisms of disease remission in pregnant
rheumatoid arthritis patients

Maternal rheumatic disease and infant health (antiRo-SS/A)

Contraception, hormone replacement therapy, drug
treatment in pregnant rheumatic patients

Treating difficult cases of pregnancy in
patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases
